Roger Peeks
Medical Director of Strategic Development, Valley Community Healthcare

Dr. Peeks has more than 30 years experience in providing health care to the underserved as a physician, educator and administrator. He has delivered direct patient care in a variety of settings including private practice in Oakland California and as a staff physician at the Alameda County Medical Center in the internal medicine residency program. He has been the Chief Medical Officer at two large county hospitals, the Los Angeles County Martin Luther King Hospital and the Alameda County Medical Center where he also served for a year as the interim CEO. Dr. Peeks has also held administrative positions in medical education serving as Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Stanford University School of Medicine and as Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs at the Charles R. Drew School of Medicine.
Dr. Peeks received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University. He is a graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at Stanford University Hospital.
Dr. Peeks served for ten years as the Chief Medical Officer at Valley Community Healthcare, a Federally Qualified Health Center that serves uninsured and underinsured residents of the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. He was recently appointed to a newly created position there as Medical Director of Strategic Development.
